When you always have the "stomach bug" when you call out of work...
A German court rules hangovers are an 'illness' and I just threw up after drinking too many margaritas on a Wednesday night. This decision came to be after a firm was brought to court after making false health claims about its anti-hangover products. The company claimed their products could cure tiredness, nausea, and headaches. And honestly, it sounds like I should take this every day. The court ruled just days before the start of Oktoberfest that, "Information about a food product cannot ascribe any properties for preventing, treating or healing a human illness or give the impression of such property," thus officially categorizing hangovers as an illness. Dear boss, I am hungover af.
Have a case of the munchies?
Lowell Cafe in West Hollywood opened its doors this week and did we mention it's a cannabis cafe? The new restaurant and bar will feature seasonal buds, brought to you by a flower host (aka budtender aka someone who serves you weed), and a food menu curated to what your smoking. Customers are also allowed to BYOW(eed) and BYOB(ong). But beware, don't go to this place with your friend in baggy sweatpants ready to get stupid baked and down a family sized bag of Doritos... this cafe is meant to be ~classy~ and you won't find any greasy pizza on their menu. Brb booking my flight to LAX.?
Alexa, teach me how to cook
Amazon unveiled the Amazon Smart Oven at their annual hardware event last week and it looks like we're gonna be $249.99 poorer. Not only is this an oven, but it also quadruples as a microwave, air fryer, and a food warmer (what's the difference between a microwave and a food warmer?). The oven also pairs with your Echo speaker to make Alexa your sous chef and she will even preheat the oven for you. Sounds like Alexa is starting to become the main character in Smart House and it's kinda freaking us out but we're still gonna buy this oven!

Lookin' like a snack
This year, for Halloween, you can dress up as a sexy White Claw or a
sexy Beyond Burger and you can't make this shit up. We're just wondering how to make a donut costume sexy? Asking for a friend.
When someone asks you for a bite of your food and you have to say yes but you don't want to
Nestle is introducing a luxury KitKat bar that will cost you $17 and we're lucky that they will only be available in the UK or else we'd be broke. The hand-crafted luxury bar will be sold at UK's KitKat Chocolatory and will come in flavors like gin and tonic, cherry bakewell, and earl grey. Chocolate lovers will also be able to customize their own KitKats and it sounds like we're not breakin' off part of this for nobody.
Vegans are taking over the world
Disney World adds over 400 vegan menu items and Disney plans to continue integrating plant-based food into its US parks. Some menu items include carrot gnocchi, cauliflower tacos, chili-spiced crispy fried tofu, eggless florentine and plant-based cashew cheesecake. Next thing you know, Disney's going to make a vegan princess.
Fast Food Frenzy
How much meatless meat could a meatless meat meat if a meatless meat could meat meat?
Beyond Meat makes its way to McDonalds with the P.L.T.- Plant, Lettuce, Tomato. Speaking of fake meat, Impossible Burger finally hits grocery stores. Can you tell that we're so over writing about meatless meat??
DoorDash-ing down the stairs to get my delivery
DoorDash deals with a data breach that exposed information of over 4.9M users. According to the company, the breach happened on May 4th, but we're just hearing about it now. The information that was stolen from users who joined the platform before April 5th, 2018, includes: name, email, delivery address, order history, phone number, password, and the last 4 digits of their credit card. We're just worried that the hacker is judging us for ordering 13 cookies from McDonalds at 11:30pm last night...
Now we'll only use Uber Eats
Uber announces some major updates at their tech event in SF this past week. Soon, there won't be two separate apps for Uber and Uber Eats; the company plans to integrate Uber Eats into its main Uber app. Uber also announces that they will begin to roll out a rewards program for loyal customers who order dinner from the app more times than they'd like to admit. Another feature that will be available is a filtration system so people with allergies or food restrictions can navigate the app easier. But wait there's more! Rachael Ray is teaming up with Uber to launch a "virtual restaurant" where her food will be available in 10 different cities for 10 weeks only starting October 15th. Jeeze, that was a mouthful.
