The Donut Queen on Chopped Sweets: Glazed and Confused?

As many of you already know, because I won't shut up about it, I appeared on the latest episode of Food Network's new season of Chopped, Chopped Sweets. If you missed the episode, you can watch on Food Network tomorrow at 2pm/1c or on YouTube, Amazon, or iTunes. And trust me, it's worth the $1.99 investment.

Pop(corn) Culture

Kim Kardashian and Kanye West visited a KFC in Paris and ordered thru the Self-Ordering Kiosk. Kim K(FC) documented the whole order on her Insta and even demanded they get some fries. She also posted a photo of her taking a snatched (we doubt she actually ate the fries) mirror pic at Jean Paul Gaultier fashion house featuring Kanye going in on a bucket of chicken. Kanye must really be God if he's not scared to eat fried chicken on a white couch. As for KFC, they've honored the celebrity couple's visit with a plaque hung above the kiosk they touched and made a custom fried chicken bucket in their honor.

The 2020 presidential candidates submitted their first monthly financial filings of the year to the Federal Election Commission, and we can see how much they all spent on food. The top seven candidates spent over $600,000 on food in just one month, with Tom Steyer (I feel like I've never heard of him before...) contributing $224,650.28 to that number. Amy Klobuchar spent $14,795.35, the least of any candidate. As far as Bernie Sanders goes, he spent $11,631.99 on pizza alone. See who has the best taste in food and policy here.

The class-action lawsuit alleging LaCroix of using unnatural ingredients, filed in 2018, has been dropped. The lawsuit alleged that LaCroix used synthetic ingredients found in cockroach insecticide. The press release made by National Beverage Corp., the parent company of LaCroix, says, "This dismissal confirms our promise to demonstrate that these allegations had absolutely no merit and reaffirms that the Company delivers a pure and innocent product... this lawsuit was baseless." As a lover of sparkling water, I'm glad justice was served. *sips my all natural Canada Dry*

Burger King released an ad showing a moldy Whopper and it makes me proud that my first choice of fast food chains is McDonald's. The ad shows what happens when a Whopper sits out for a month when it contains no artificial preservatives. I'm just curious what it would look like with preservatives... I feel like that would be more impactful. The chain has removed Whopper's preservatives in over 400 U.S. restaurants and plan to have removed all by 2021. Don't come @ me, but I feel like no preservatives at a fast food chain might be more dangerous. Like do the chefs there know how to handle food properly and store it?? Either way, I hope nothing will happen in my life that puts me at such a low that I want BK.

Speaking of fast food meat, McDonald's has released a line of candles that smell like Quarter Pounders. The pack of 6 candles include the scents: Sesame Seed Bun, Ketchup, Pickle, Cheese, Onion, and 100% Fresh Beef. So like, are we supposed to light them all at once? That seems like a fire hazard. I also don't need anything else in my life that encourages me to eat more. I am however interested in the 'Quarter Pounder with Love' Locket.
