Get ready to indulge in all things food news...

Oreo going to eat that?

Oreo announces two new flavors for the new year, and we are ready to raid the grocery store shelves. Be on the lookout for Caramel Coconut Oreos (caramel coconut flavor creme with coconut pieces) and Chocolate Marshmallow Oreos (marshmallow pieces in cookie with chocolate marshmallow flavor creme). If you're not salivating thinking about Chocolate Marshmallow Oreos, then maybe you want to take a look at the Tiramisu Oreo that's rumored to drop April 2020;)

Counting blessings, not calories

There's a new Food & Drug Administration rule that makes certain food products provide nutrition information for eating the entire thing. If a food package contains 2-3 servings and "can reasonably be consumed in one meal or snack," then a per container calorie count must be placed next to the per serving count in a dual column label. We're not sure if this makes us feel better, knowing that we're not the only one who will eat a whole bag of family sized chips in one sitting, or worse, because when we did the math on our own the calorie count of the whole bag seemed a lot lower...

Dean Foods walked so Borden Dairy could run

Borden Dairy Co., one of America's oldest and largest dairy companies is the second major milk producer to file for bankruptcy, after Dean Foods. Between their debt load and pension obligations, Borden Dairy, which has been around for 163 years, still plans to stay in business during the bankruptcy process. As someone who still has calcium deposits at 23-years-old, this news makes me very sad.

Starving yourself so you fit into that dress you just bought...

On Sunday, Ricky Gervais hosted the 77th annual Golden Globes while the award show attendees enjoyed a vegan dinner. For the first time in major award show history, the entire menu was animal-product-free, consisting of: chilled golden beet soup, King Oyster Mushroom scallops, wild mushroom risotto, Brussels sprouts, globe carrots, pea tendrils, and an opera dome with praline crumble and caramelized hazelnuts. The Hollywood Foreign Press Association wanted to use the menu to send a signal about the climate crisis, but people were quick to point out that 100 private jets were used to bring people to the ceremony. *sips vegan tea*

A Ferrari crashed into Lisa Vanderpump's restaurant, PUMP, and this is not a joke. On Sunday, a Ferrari lost control and smashed into the entrance of one of the Real Housewives of Beverly Hills' star's many restaurants. Don't worry, no one was hurt while sipping on bellinis and eating goat cheese balls during their Sunday brunch. We're just not sure what will cost more... a new Ferrari, brunch there, or a new entrance to PUMP? Also, don't miss the premiere of season 8 of Vanderpump Rules tonight!

When you find out that Pizza Rat and the mascot of Chuck E. Cheese are not the same person...

Apparently rodents are in this season. After Gucci announced a collaboration with Disney to give us Mickey Mouse inspired apparel, Rag and Bone, an apparel brand that's expensive but not as expensive as Gucci, decided to use Mickey's crack-head cousin, Pizza Rat, as their inspiration. Pizza Rat, New York's infamous rodent who was seen dragging an entire slice of pizza into the subway, can be found plastered on Rag and Bone t-shirts and beanies. We're not sure if Pizza Rat would be disappointed or proud knowing there's a crew neck of him selling for $395 out there...

Fast Food Frenzy

iHopping with joy

iHop is opening a fast-casual restaurant, Flip'd, and we're flippin' excited. Coming this year to Atlanta, New York City, Washington D.C., Denver, and San Francisco, you can expect to get on-the-go breakfast, which will include: pancakes in a bowl, breakfast burritos, grab-and-go salads, and a build-your-own pancake bar. Did we mention there will be a BUILD-YOUR-OWN PANCAKE BAR?!

Welcome to the sausage party

Hooters teams up with Quorn Foods to launch meatless wings. The Unreal Wings are plant based, non-GMO, soy-free, sustainably produced, and now available at Hooters nationwide. Apparently this move is an attempt to win over millennials and women, which seems kinda sexist to us...

Why is it that when something is "fun-sized" it's actually smaller and not bigger?

Krispy Kreme is adding mini doughnuts to their menu that are less than 100 calories apiece and how come I was today-years-old when I found out Krispy Kreme doughnuts are ONLY 190 CALORIES?! This whole time, society was making us think that one doughnut was about 10000 calories... not like that stopped me or anything, but still!! Anyway, we don't really get the point of these mini doughnuts cuz this will just be an easier way for us to eat an equivalent of 5 full sized doughnuts. You can get a free mini doughnut every Monday in January from 4pm-7pm for "Mini Mondays."
